Why I Can't

black separator bar
Get inside of me, get inside of you
We each hear the words, and we don't understand
It's just like we speak differently

Holding feelings in, deep down inside
Got no real friend, no one believes it
And I have no where else to go

Now where, now where do we go from here?
We're already down, are we going to sink more

Why I can't tell anyone how I feel inside
Why I can't say what's been hurting me down inside
It's just a fact of life
A truth that can't surface from down inside me
Can't you see?
Why I can't open up and let you see inside

Isn't this the hardest part of life?
Finding out that you just don't fit in at all
Like the whole world stopped and threw you off

It's like having a rash that you can't scratch
Or finding out you've got an egg that's cracked
Who can find the beauty in that?

Now where, now where do we go from here?
We're already down, are we going to sink more

Why I can't tell anyone how I feel inside
Why I can't say what's been hurting me down inside
It's just a fact of life
A truth that can't surface from down inside me
Can't you see?
Why I can't open up and let you see inside
