It's easy to see the skin color
Makes some different from others
Look at the color of another's hair
Thinking that separates us

Passing others with a handicap
Calling it survival of the fittest
Asking as if they are God
Claiming who's the better person

Eyes blue from all the crying
Each step closer to dying
Why'd you pass me by?
The reason has escaped me

It wasn't the color of my skin
Nor the color of my hair
Not even the way I walk
It goes a whole lot deeper

It's easy to find a way to hate
Make up excuses for what you think
See what you want in others
Miss who they really are inside

Eyes blue from all the crying
Each step closer to dying
Why'd you pass me by?
The reason because I'm me
