No Words

black separator bar
Like a picture in a frame
People look as they pass
Making judgments on me
Determining what it is I am

Like some clay on a table
Each one tries to mold me
Twists this way and that
To form what they can see

Should it matter to me?
The words not spoken
I'm who I want to be
Not an object that's broken

What was it I missed?
Some rule I mistook
Or work left undone
Maybe written in a book

Like a crack in the wall
Winds just go right through
Some where they missed me
Went right on around

Like a puff of smoke
Just up and fades away
You were here a bit
Now you've up and gone away

It doesn't matter
The words they do not speak
I'm who I want to be
So you think I'm bleak

You're the one that's missed
For making rules only for me
Leaving nothing that works
Taking the wrong part of me
